My current username comes from the realm of anime. I was obsessed with DNAngel when I chose it, because I had finally watched the series shortly after I became a Risembool Ranger. I really liked Dark and the mascot, With, who transforms into Dark's wings. It was an easy choice back then, because I wanted something anime-inspired that wasn't just random Japanese words thrown together. I added the underscore in the middle to ensure that it wasn't misread as "dark swings." ^^;
I didn't actually sign up for my current LJ account with that username, though. I was originally known as "_phoenixtears_." That username was inspired by the scene with Fawkes' healing tears in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It also reminded me of a scene from the first Pokémon movie, but that didn't involve a phoenix. It seemed like a good choice, because I love phoenixes and I wanted something fantasy inspired. I eventually discovered that I was given one free name change, because LJ changed the journal URLS. I decided to use it, because I was sick of the underscores anyway.
I still like my current username, but I may change it in the future... we'll see.
