Wow, August 11th already?

1. Do you want to get married?

Yes? I always thought I would because I grew up surrounded by people who married young. I just assumed that it would happen easily and effortlessly for me, but obviously that didn't happen. Honestly, I'm glad that it didn't happen earlier because I have changed so much since my 20s and my mental health was not in a good place during many of those years. I could have so easily fallen into a bad relationship (if I put myself out there, which I didn't), and I was aware of it even then. I would still like to, but I've seen so many crappy marriages that I feel trepidation. Still, if the right person comes along...

2. Where would you like to get married?

Somewhere outside where there's trees and greenery. Places like that fill me with peace.

3. If you were getting married in a week, who would be in your wedding party?

Honestly, that is my biggest concern because I really don't know.

4. What would your wedding colours be?

Never thought of it.

5. Does marriage mean to you 'til death do us part?'

Generally yes, but not if it's detrimental to either partner. I don't want anyone to be stuck with jerks or abusers.

Wow, the song that's playing is oddly fitting. XD

Now, I should get to watching the new season of Good Omens before I risk spoiling myself...

1) How is your year going so far?

Not awesome? It has been okay, but I've been teetering on the edge of depression lately. I'm trying to keep my spirits up, but I just want this nightmare to be over!

2) Have you gotten vaccinated yet? If not, when do you think it's likely to happen?

Not yet. Maybe in summer? I don't really know because I'm not in a high priority group at all. Right now, my job is to convince my older family members to take it.

3) Are you bored or are you busy these days?

More busy than bored, but I've experience both.

4) Is this pandemic good or bad for your finances?

I was going to say that it's probably the same, but we have probably been saving money not going out as much.

5) What are you missing most these days?

Human interaction, massages, and the gym.

Wow, just typing that number feels weird.

I made it through 2020. I stopped posting because I unintentionally threw myself into my schoolwork in 2020 and still struggle with work/life balance. Anyway, maybe I can do better this year. In the meantime, here is [community profile] thefridayfive for today.

What was the best thing about 2020?

My Malory class. We read through the whole Le Morte Darthur. Honestly, I liked the people in my class more than the text itself. I'm probably not going to become a medievalist, but those classes sure attract a fun crowd.

What lessons from 2020 will you carry into 2021?

I can complete things even when they are difficult. Perserverance matters.

How did you spend your New Year's Eve?

Stayed home and watched a bit of New Year's Rockin' Eve.

Legend says what you did at midnight on New Year's Eve/Day is what you'll do all year. So what did you do?

I listened to music and tried desperately to stay awake... I didn't actually get to sleep until around 2, though. The only thing good about that is the music part.

What are you most looking forward to in 2021?

Maybe things will slowly start going back to normal? *crosses fingers*

I hope to do the [community profile] snowflake_challenge later as well.

I swear, I will get back on board with the [community profile] sunshine_challenge soon, but here's this for now. ;D

1. What is your favorite place?

As far as cities go, NYC. I don't know how I would feel about living there, but I've loved it during my three visits. I can't say no to a place that has Broadway and all kinds of culture and excitement where hardly anybody drives.

If we are not talking about cities in particular, I will say the beach when it's not too hot and hardly any people are there.

2. What is your favorite place in your home?

My room because it's the only place where I have some space for myself. I live with my family, so it's the only place that I can hope to get peace and quiet enough to hear myself think.

3. Would you most want to live in a city, a suburb or the country?

I've only lived in the suburbs, so I guess that's my answer. I would be willing to give the city a try but the country less so.

4. What is special about the town you live in?

The headquarters of Bandai Entertainment used to be here. Mitsubishi is still headquartered here, but they are going to move, and I think there are a couple other Japanese companies who have US headquarters here as well. Also, John Stamos is from my city. ^^; Other than that, I am close to Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, the beach, and LA.

5. How much time do you spend in nature?

Not enough. For as much time as I spend on the internet or reading, there is an outdoorsy girl deep inside waiting to break free.

1. What’s your favorite part about taking a vacation/holiday?

Different surroundings. I'm not too crazy about my home right now, so it's a breath of fresh air. It's not the general area of southern California that I dislike; it's the specific condo and neighborhood that I have grown tired of. Yet, at the end of most vacations, I am happy to return to the room that I can call my own even if it is not perfect.

2. What’s your least favorite part about taking a vacation/holiday?

I'm not fond of plane travel. In fact, I'm kind of sick of it.

3. What’s the farthest you’ve traveled on a vacation/holiday?

I'm guessing it would be the two trips I've taken to New York. Actually, I just asked my phone, and it appears that Honolulu is a little bit farther.

4. Have you ever taken a vacation/holiday (spent time in a hotel for pleasure) in your own town/city?

Not my exact city but one close to it. I have stayed in the Disneyland Hotel even though I live close enough to drive there every day. I also got to stay in a suite during Anime Expo in LA, but that's more justifiable because it can be a pain to drive up to LA every morning.

5. If you could go somewhere right now, where would it be?.

Probably England. I'm something of an Anglophile. ;)

What is your fondest memory of something related to the stars or space?

I have fond memories of watching various educational shows related to space, particularly the Magic School Bus episode where they visit all of the planets in our solar system. :D I also enjoyed visiting the Griffith Observatory for my grandma's birthday.

What is a celestial body that you find particularly interesting?

Right now, I will say Mars. I blame this on the Dear Hank and John podcast. It's fun to learn about, and I find the idea that it may have had life on it to be fascinating.

When you look at the night sky, what thoughts cross your mind?

I feel small. We are just a tiny spec in the vastness of the universe. It's mostly void, partially stars.

Have you ever seen anything weird or inexplicable up there?

No, I wish.

Would you live in space or on another planet?

Probably not. It's fun to read about it, but I think it would be too much trouble in real life.
