Writer's Block: The best of times
May. 6th, 2011 12:11 am[Error: unknown template qotd]There isn't really one song in particular, but a lot of 90s teen pop that was all the rage at the time makes me think of the carefree days of elementary school. Early Britney Spears and songs by the boy bands of that decade are especially nostalgic for me. The funny thing is, I didn't even care for them back then! I probably wouldn't even listen to them now if they weren't light-hearted fluff that seems to transport me back in time so well.
Well, now that I think of it, there IS one song in particular that really makes me nostalgic! M2M's song "Don't Say You Love Me" was featured in the first Pokémon movie. The song really has nothing to do with Pokémon, but I can't hear it without thinking of my Pokémon obsession. In fact, anything from the Pokémon movie soundtracks has that effect on me. I might even go as far as to say that ALL late 90s pop (and, to a lesser extent, early 00s) makes me think of that blossoming obsession since it was my background music at the time. In those days, I felt like I was on top of the world.
