Well, it's already 2008! Happy new year to anyone who may be reading this. The new year kinda snuck up on me this time and I realize how much I've neglected updating this blog. I guess now's as good a time as any, huh? I actually made it to a couple cons in 2007 so it's not like I haven't had anything to post about...
In January I started off the year by going to Phoenix Cactus Comicon! It was my first out of state con and I got to see Vic again. Yay~!! XD I went to a great Ranger dinner and got to meet General Pammy who started the Rangers. It was a very nice con, but I got there so late on Friday that I pretty much missed out on the first day. It was kind of a late birthday present to me...
Next up was Sakura-con which took place over Easter weekend. It was a nice way to spend the holiday. I got to see some other voice actors besides the always awesome Vic such as the main dub cast of Tsubasa (I went to the dub premiere, woohoo!!) including the very cool Monica Rial. <3 Got them to sign a very nice Tsubasa poster that should be hanging on my wall right now, but isn't yet. *shrugs* Anyway, Vic held a church service on Easter Sunday and videos of it are floating around YouTube somewhere. I never thought that I'd spend Easter at an anime con like that! I got to stay and check out Seattle for awhile. I also visited some family. I'd definitely love to go back there sometime!
This brings us to summer and AX '07. It was my 4th year at the con, but probably my least favorite. It didn't help that they held it in a different place than before. I saw Vic again as well as Monica and Chris Patton for the first time ever. I had them all sign my FMA bag! I really wanted to meet Caitlin Glass, but I didn't get the chance. Even though it wasn't the best con for me I still enjoyed it. I dragged my friend Anna along for the first time and she had fun, too. It felt good to be attending a con in my own state after all the travel to the others. The real highlight of the weekend was getting to see Michele again, because she's awesome and I had heard so much about her yet only seen her once.
Anime Vegas just sort of... happened. I had planned to go months before and wondered if Vic would be invited, but he never was... =( Instead, Travis and Aaron were there. I didn't check the updated guest list so I didn't realize that until the day before the con so I had nothing except the program for them to sign. I want to see Travis again! Er anyway, lots of cool FUNimation voice actors that I've been hearing in anime for years were there. I felt like kicking myself for not bringing any of my Kyo stuff for Jerry Jewel to sign especially since I already had te Japanese counterpart. *sighs* Admittedly, my favorite voice actor to meet was Maile Flannagan (sp?) who voices Naruto. XD Who would've guessed? She's really cool! I had already been to Vegas before so I mostly focused on going to the con rather than sightseeing. I still managed to look around the city a bit.
Ani-Magic was my last con of the year, but it came and went all too soon. It still had problems, but it was quite nice due to the small size. I got to see Vic & Michele more as well as some of the Rangers so I was happy. I bought another copy of Metafiction, because I wore out my old one and then I got lucky enough to get my very own Ranger baby tee. I wanted one for ages! Well, Aaron Dismuke was there and I made sure to have him sign some FMA stuff. I also got a pic finally! I didn't get a pic with both the Elric brothers' voice actors together, but I got one with Vic and an Al cosplayer so that's close enough for now.
That's all I really feel like saying right now. There's lots of other little details I could throw in, but the cons are probably the most interesting part of the year. Hopefully they'll be many more in 2008! There were some problems, but looking back now only makes me think of the good times.
Here's to another fun year! ^_^
