What I didn't do today: Post Yuletide recs before the reveals
What I did do today:
1. What did you do in 2015 that you'd never done before?
I presented my research about Jane Eyre, The White Tiger, and the bildungsroman genre at an academic conference for undergraduates.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I met my reading challenge goal on GoodReads, so I'm happy with that. I got a lot of reading done even though I didn't always end up reading or finishing what I had planned. I wrote a fair amount too, but hardly any of it was fannish. :( Yes, I fully intend to make more resolutions for 2016. Here's to more reading and writing!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No. I don't know why, but this seems like an odd question. Maybe because everyone close to me is either too old to have children or not in a good place in life to reproduce.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thank God.
5. What countries did you visit?
I never took even one step outside of the United States. :(
6. What would you like to have in 2016 that you lacked in 2015?
Love and a social life. Also, a degree, but that's pretty much certain already.
7. What date from 2015 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Lots of good things happened, but I'm not sure that any specific dates will stick in my mind. I had a great time going to the Night Vale live show, but I can't remember what date that was...
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I won the English department scholarship. :)
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not putting myself out there more and missing out on scholarship opportunities.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I was in a car accident which caused some soreness and bruising but nothing more.
11. What were the best things you bought?
New iPhone
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My friend Mariana because she got into Berkley. :D
13. Whose behavior appalled you?
Donald Trump.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Downloading things and school.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The Night Vale novel.
16. What song will always remind you of 2015?
"Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding. There were probably others, but I can't think of them.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a. happier or sadder? Maybe happier?
b. thinner or fatter? About the same, as far as I know.
c. richer or poorer? Richer
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Socializing and writing
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Procrastinating
20. How will you be spending Christmas and/or New Year's?
-Christmas Eve: At my aunt and uncle's house
-Christmas Day: Quietly at home.
-New Year's Eve: Watching TV at home.
I may go out tomorrow~
22. Did you fall in love in 2015?
Just the same love that I've been hanging onto since 2013.
23. How many one-night stands?
Zero
24. What was your favorite TV show?
The only thing that I watched faithfully as Doctor Who, but I've enjoyed what I've seen of Jane the Virgin and Penny Dreadful. If you mean new shows, I haven't a clue.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Hate is not my style.
26. What was the best book you read?
Probably Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell or Kafka on the Shore
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Hamilton musical
28. What did you want and get?
Disneyland tickets and a new iPhone
29. What did you want and not get?
A new computer.

I miss Mariana now that's she in Berkley.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Maybe Destiny? A lot of nice people drifted in and out of my life this year.
